"The mission of the North Carolina Society of Hispanic Professionals is to enhance the integration and cooperation among the Hispanic professionals of North Carolina and concerned individuals (Hispanic, non-Hispanic, professionals, and non-professionals) and organizations to promote the education of Hispanic students at all levels."
The members of the North Carolina Society of Hispanic Professionals (NCSHP), NC State University, organizers, presenters, sponsors, and the NCSHP Board of Directors extend an invitation to you to attend our Hispanic Achievement Conference 2011.
NCSHP is proud that it has become a leading professional society dedicated to developing partnerships and embracing all "people of good will" to promote the education of Hispanic youth in North Carolina. We will continue our efforts to establish long-term relationships with individuals, institutions and county, state and national organizations so that we can make a difference in the lives of our Hispanic children and achieve the diversification of our nation's work force.
The objectives of the Hispanic Achievement Conference are
- To empower education leaders and teachers with a better knowledge of the Hispanic student population and the factors that interfere with their educational performance.
- To learn methods and practices that help Hispanic students overcome barriers to academic success and promote their involvement in school life.
- To hear successful practitioners share their experience and expertise in ESL programs, self-esteem development, parental involvement, and linguistically/diverse populations as a positive resource.
We wish to thank the Conference's sponsors: Nationwide Insurance, AT&T, Food Lion, and all who make our Hispanic Achievement Conference 2011 a reality.
We invite you to review within this Website the conference highlights, keynote speakers and featured speakers. Our Conference hopes to serve as a forum to address issues impacting our Hispanic students and discuss best practices that are practical and applicable in the school environment to increase the academic achievement of the Hispanic students in North Carolina.
Sincerely,
Marco A. Zárate
President
