Coach Brian is a native of Raleigh and was always an active athlete and Eagle Scout. Brian graduated from Enloe High School in 2004. He attended Appalachian State University and was a member of the swim and cycling teams. In 2009, Brian graduated from ASU with a degree in History, Secondary Education. His first three years of teaching he spent in the Dominican Republic, where he taught history, geography and consumer mathematics at a bilingual K-12 school. After getting married in 2012, Brian and his wife moved to the United States where they both have taught Spanish and pursued higher education degrees. Brian joined ¡Gradúate! in 2015.

Maria Aleman
¡Gradúate! Coach
Maria is originally from El Salvador but moved to the states in her teen years. She is a first-generation college student and holds a Native Speaker Community Spanish Interpreter certificate from Johnston Community College (JCC) and a Bachelor of Social Work from East Carolina University. Maria has previously worked in an Account Receivable role and worked at Student Support Services (TRIO) program at JCC as a program assistant. In that role, she worked closely with students while collaborating with the staff to help students reach their academic goals. Maria is an active member of her parish. She has volunteered in various roles such as assisting at the food pantry, fundraising, and working with kids and youth. Maria finds helping others rewarding and likes to assist others in reaching their goals. She also believes that education is a crucial determinant of shaping opportunities in life. In her free time, Maria loves spending time with her family making memories together. She enjoys traveling, dancing, and eating ice cream. She feels honored to now be part of the NCSHP team, where she hopes to contribute to students' success and serve the Hispanic population.

Alejandra Lujan
Alejandra Lujan is one of our program coaches. She was born in Trujillo, Honduras, and Moved to Wendell, North Carolina, in 2006. She graduated from Wake Technical Community College in 2017 with an Associate degree in Health and Fitness Sciences. In 2020, she completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Mount Olive in Recreation and Leisure Studies with a minor in Children Developmental Activities. Alejandra is passionate about education and helping others excel. She is constantly striving to improve her techniques and find new opportunities to grow to give back to the community. She loves to travel and learn about different cultures and languages. Some of Alejandra’s hobbies are discovering new places in the triangle and photography.

Julio is a Miami native but moved to Nicaragua to live in his parents' home country. He graduated from Apex High School and is currently attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill–– pursuing degrees in Psychology and English. Some of Julio’s hobbies and interests are reading, writing, and doing art. Julio is excited to learn from the NCSHP team and continue to do important work.
