STay in School Campaign

¡tu vida, Tu Futuro, Tu Destino. . .Es Ahora!

Encourage your friends and classmates to "Stay in School" and graduate from high school!

The NC Society of Hispanic Professionals invites you and your friends/classmates to participate in our Stay in School Video/Announcement Contest to encourage Hispanic students in North Carolina to Stay in School and graduate from high school. The focus of the video/announcement should be on the importance of education in the lives of Hispanics.  Videos should include themes such as academic success, careers, perseverance, the rewards of education, and the benefits of finishing high school.

 

Selection Criteria

The best videos/announcements will be judged on the basis of some of the following characteristics:

  • Overall QUALITY: Technical (Sound, Images) & Content

  • MESSAGE Conveyed: Message is persuasive, compelling, thought-provoking, moving

  • CREATIVITY Involved: Eye-catching message or sequences, novel approach, unique

  • ENTERTAINMENT Level: Enjoyable and interesting to watch

  • RELEVANCE to the Central Theme: Stay in School, Graduate from High School

Rules

  1. All videos must be submitted before the deadline, December 01. 

  2. The contest is open to all NC Middle and High School Students.  We will accept video submissions from individuals and groups.  Any number of students may collaborate to produce the video!

  3. Videos must be a MAXIMUM of 25 seconds in length.  Videos that exceed 25s will be disqualified and will not make it to the judges round.

  4. The video should address the Stay in School Contest Focus: Importance of education in the lives of Hispanic Youth and encourage your peers to Stay in School! Themes: Academic Success, Careers, Perseverance, Rewards of Education, Benefits of High School Graduation, among many others.

  5. Be sure that any music you choose to add to your video does not conflict with any copyright laws. NCSHP cannot load the video to our YouTube page and Univision 40 cannot air it if it violates copyright laws.

  6. BE CREATIVE AND HAVE FUN!

Prize Categories

1st       $500.00 in cash

2nd      $300.00 in cash

3rd       $150.00 in cash

In addition to receiving a prize, the top video/announcement winner(s) will have the opportunity for their video to be aired on Univision 40, our partner TV Hispanic Station!

The winner(s) will be announced on February 15th onllne and the cash prizes and certificates will be given at the 2018 Hispanic Educational Summit on March 23, 2018.

Failure to comply with the Official Rules of the contest may result in disqualification and/or forfeiture of any prize or prizes. All decisions of the NCSHP’s management and Stay in School Selection Committee with respect to the contest are final.
